Podiatry

About Podiatry

Chiropody and podiatry is the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the foot and lower limb. They treat all age ranges and a wide range of conditions.

The human foot is a complex structure – it contains bones, muscles, nerves, ligaments and blood vessels, and is designed for balance and mobility. The 52 bones in your feet make up about 1/4th of all the bones in your body.

Aim of the treatment

The aim of the treatment could be to ease and ultimately eliminate pain thus improving foot function and enhance the appearance of the feet.

Initial Consultation

The initial consultation involves a full case history (to include all aspects of a patient’s health) plus assessment of the foot and lower limb and then treatment.

The treatment is dependent on the condition diagnosed and involves a number of different modalities from, for example, simple removal of a corn to complex assessment of the lower limb and insoles/orthotics.

We perform a variety of treatment modalities to treat these conditions including nail surgery, assessment of the lower limb and foot and issue orthosis (specialist insoles) as required, homeopathic treatments, application of false nails to damaged/infected nails (pedique).

Prices

Treatment for routine conditions £55.

Dressing: £48.

Should you require more specialist treatments the cost of these will be discussed with you at the appointment.
